You know I get tons of email and a lot of that email asks me for food tips. I saved one of those emails because it asks a very good question about mushrooms.
Many species such as the button mushroom are edible but
many species are toxic like Panther cap (Amanita pantherina), or mind-altering like Psilocybe azurescens.
There are really only a small number of deadly species although some can make you pretty sick, but if you are going to forage for mushrooms you may want to use my fool proof method of telling if your mushroom is poison or if it’s good.
